Choosing The Right Crane For Your Project

We understand that choosing the right crane requires preparation and planning but is an absolutely essential process. We know that the right crane can reduce cost, increase efficiency, keep your project on track, budget and schedule.

1. Check the load weight to be lifted-

The first thing we consider is the weight of the load. Then assign a crane that suits the load weight as well as the type of the load. By type we mean, if your load is a liquid-filled tank or a concrete block.

2. Understand the height of the lift-

The height of the lift makes a whole lot of difference in the crane we choose. We have to consider boom length according to the lift height, plus height comes with weather conditions, particularly wind. This could lead to serious damage if not assessed carefully.

3. Determine the moving distance-

Just like the height of the lift, the crane must travel some distance horizontally to pick and deliver your load. We include counterweight, support structure, and stability of the boom, in order to travel that distance safely.

4. On-site terrain-

The stability of the support structure of a crane is a crucial part while choosing a crane depending on the terrain. This is crucial to reduce risk and increase productivity.

5. Is the project site easily accessible?

It’s not always on-site obstacles that our team needs to tackle, we encounter several obstacles, rules and regulations, and safety issues while traveling to the site. We need to take all these into consideration and act accordingly.

Before lifting, our operators make sure:

  • That the load is free of any kind of loose materials

  • The load doesn’t exceed its max load capacity.
  • The lifting device fits properly in the hook.
  • Check that no obstruction in the way of load movement
